C. 350 AD. The Buddhist scholar Vasubandhu revised and rewrote the original text, Sushruta Samhita, in a simplified language.
C. 753 – 774 AD. Sushruta Samhita, an ancient text on medicine and surgery, and one of the most important treatises on this subject to survive from the ancient world. The Compendium of Sushruta is one of the foundational texts of Ayurveda (Indian traditional medicine) is translated into Arabic by the Caliph Mansur.
1890 AD. Hamilton Bower, an English army officer purchased a preserved Sanskrit manuscript filled with Sushruta’s writings.
1907 – 1914 AD. Kaviraj Kunja Lal Bhishagratna translates Sushuta Samhita in English.
